BIW Fixture Design Engineer
Education: B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Automotive / Design)
• Hands Experience in Designing & Detailing spot welding/MIG welding fixtures (automated and manual)
• CATIA V5
• UG NX
• Design experience in BIW welding fixtures
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process
• Experience in working in OEMs like GM, VW, BMW, FOR, DAIMLER, etc.
• Experience in conducting Technical Review with customer
• Exposure to multiple CAD tools will be an added advantage
• Experience in Teamcenter will be added advantage
Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
Experience : 0- 6 Years
Responsibilities
• Concept Design (Design clamps, pin units stationary as well as retractable, slides and dumps)
• Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding)
• Performs basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings and BOM
• Knowledge of tolerances and materials
• Read and understand GD&T drawings
• Designing of BIW welding fixtures
• Concept Design, 3D finish, 2D Layout & detailing
• Quality check as per customer standards
• Documentation as per customer standards
• Technical reviews with customer
• Co-ordination with Offshore Team
BIW Fixture Design Engineer
Job Location- Pune Education- BE/ Btech Experience- 0 to 5 years Job Description
• Project delivery related to engineering and design from kick off to implementation including QFD, bench-marking, feature analysis, engineering, drawing and model preparation and release, CAE and physical validation support, DFMEA and DVP
• Preparation of Bill o f Material in Interior trims
• Creating master sections of Interior trims parts with interface to meet craftsmanship requirements
• Finalizing mounting strategy of interior trim parts with interface parts to meet robustness and other performance and Quality targets
• 3D modeling in surfacing as well as solid
• Generating 2D drawings,3D annotation etc.
• Release Management in PLM TCUA/ TC E/ Modular BOM
• Participation in Design Reviews/ CFT meeting/DFMEA etc.
• Project support
• PLM support in TCE & TCUA
• VAVE
• CATIA v5 – must have skill sets
• PLM TCE/TCUA – must have skill sets
• Bench-marking
• Line support as per project need
• Root cause analysis with technical proposals
• Master sections
• In case project need, shall visit supplier end

• Design exposure of Automotive Interior Trims components
• Able to understand overall interior trim design & development process & activities involved at every stages of Program
• Basic Knowledge of a engineering plastic materials and processes, dimensional management, GD&T
• Hands on experience on Product life cycle management system (PLM) -TCE & TCUA
• Creating Engineering Concept design, master sections, macro feasibility during styling stage
• Basic Understanding of DFMEA, DVP
• Basic Knowledge of a engineering plastic materials and processes, dimensional management, GD&T
• Good analytical, logical and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of Catia V5-3D modeling in surfacing as well as solid
• Generating 2D drawings,3D annotation etc
BIW FIXTURE DESIGN
Candidate possess a strong understanding of concept design and skilled in independently creating 3D concept designs. Additionally, he must have the capability to perform quality control (QC) activities to ensure the excellence of the design work.
